Me liking

I’ve been hearing this song a lot on a FM station i’ve become fond of, thought i’d look it up today. The audio on the first version isn’t all that great but I really like the tying it to V for Vendetta movie clips – quite brilliant actually. Below that is a live BBC concert version which has MUCH better audio (takes a while to load though). Now on to listen to more of their stuff…

Holeee S**t

DISTRICT 9

Adjectives that have been wasted on less deserving cinema would be completely appropriate to be applied to this Film.

’nuff said.

(One additional note, to Vulfie: if you go see this, do so as a matinee and make sure you have someone to converse with – or book a talk therapy session – for afterwards. Just saying)

August reading

Continuing with my trend of regaling you with some (or all, in a couple of previous posts) of the several books i’m reading at once (or over the course of a month), i give you my ‘current’ list…

Recently read:

EMERALD DECISION – Craig Thomas (war fiction)

The COURTESAN – Julia Justiss (romance?)

The GRAIL CONSPIRACY – Lynn Sholes & Joe Moore (mystery)

ZERO – Eric Van Lustbader (spy fiction)

Just finished:

OBLIVION – Peter Abrahams (fiction)

The POCKET GUIDE to BRILLIANCE – Bart King (humour/reference)

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to The KORAN – Sarwar & Toropov

Currently reading:

LORDS of FINANCE: the Bankers Who Broke the World (1914-1933) – Liaquat Ahmed

The LOST APOSTLE: Searching for the Truth About Jania – Rena Pederson

The EAGLE and the RAVEN – Pauline Gedge (historical fiction)

On Deck (in the pipe to be read next):

The IMMORTALITY FACTOR – Ben Bova (Sci-fi)

MIDWINTER – Matthew Sturges (fantasy)

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to The GNOSTIC GOSPELS – J. Michael Matkin

GOD’S SECRETARIES: The Making of the King James Bible – Adam Nicholson

The BIBLE in TRANSLATION: Ancient and English Versions – Bruce M. Metzger

WHO WROTE the NEW TESTAMENT?: The Making of a Christian Myth – Burton L. Mack

The MAGICIAN’S APPRENTICE – Trudi Canavan (fantasy)

This is in addition to reading the local free daily papers in my city, the odd ‘bathroom’ Reader’s Digest ™ and The Epoch Times* every week (*which i recommend to ALL of you with any interest in real world events – and tons of other great articles too).

I now need to decide which 2 or 3 of the “on deck” books i will start on tonight (or soon), and which to save until i finish one or more of the others. Any suggestions?
